About
I am a professor at DePaul Unversity School of Music, and also NEIU. I also teach privately.
I have taught private piano for my entire life, and it is something I am creatively engaged in, the challenge of trying to get better at teaching, always.....
Here is a recent comment from one of my longest private students (7 years), now he is a musical colleague and we perform and record together quite often.
""Jeff Kowalkowski is an amazing teacher. He encourages students to work hard while maintaining a fun atmosphere at the same time. He is always providing opportunities for his students and going out of his way just to help others become successful. Despite his impressive knowledge and vast array of skills, he is a very humble person and is always open to learning even more.""

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Here is a review I received from one of my longest running private students (6.5 Years).
June 2018
I took private lessons with Jeff for over six years.
I started lessons with him after already taking lessons elsewhere for about five years.
He is an extremely talented educator who helped me grow as both a pianist and a lifelong musician.
He exposed me to classical, jazz, and pop tunes and also helped me with my own personal songwriting endeavors.
His knowledge of music theory is unmatched to any other lessons teacher I have ever had.
I would highly recommend Jeff for any age or skill level.
