Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Art is a personal endeavor. It’s important to understand an individual’s goal in their pursuit of art as an expression in their life. Once a goal is established which can be from one day up to a lifetime, then we work towards that end through a series of tactical explorations, understanding the architecture of art and he ability to gain control of the medium that the student chooses to work with.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My training is self taught. I didn’t have the wherewithal to afford an education but I had a passion for art. I set forth many years ago to learn my craft, so I read, I produced a lot of bad artwork, I learned from my mistakes. Now I own that information and apply all that I have learned over the years into each bew piece. And now I gladly share my knowledge.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Pricing is by the hour with a minimum of one hour increments. The typical session is two hours. Pricing starts at $45 an hour. That is for one or 2 individuals. For multiple participants, the pricing is $25 for 3 or more, up to 10 participants
How did you get started teaching?
I have held a number of art shows at my house. I had a few inquiries as to teaching. I extended it into dinner and art evenings with a few close friends. It has grown.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with children from the ages of eight years of age through adults in their mid 70’s. I have also taught highly functional special needs children.
