Rather than just teaching to the instrument or out of a book, I love getting to know my students goals, musical tastes, and learning styles. In addition to becoming familiar with the instrument and developing effective practice habits and techniques, students have opportunities to learn music theory, composition, and improvisation. Your inspiration brought you here; it's my job to help you put your passion into practice. Or maybe you just want to learn to play your favorite song, and that's cool, too.

Bachelor's degree in Music Composition from Columbia College Chicago
Trained in cello and piano; self-taught in bass guitar, acoustic guitar, ukulele, contrabass, mandocello, and dulcimer.
Specialize in theory, composition, arrangement, improvisation, notation, and transcription.
Professional experience performing a wide variety of musical styles/genres in a wide variety of venues nationwide and internationally.
