McPhillips Artworks
About
I have maintained a professional Art Studio Practice since 2003, creating artwork for exhibition and garnering numerous awards. I create enigmatic images at the confluence of myth, perception, and scientific theory. Most recently I've been involved in large-scale murals and public art projects.
I'm also an inspiring teacher and educator. I excel at communicating complex nuances verbally. I delight in sharing my enthusiasm, and in creating a relaxed, supportive environment where the student feels free to find their own voice while coming to understand the foundations of the craft. I seek, above all, to awaken wonder.

I love to awaken wonder in my students. The craft of drawing and painting is a vehicle to clearer seeing, and one which makes the world more vivid to it's practitioners.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Each of us are unique and I strive to meet my students where they are at. Before our first lesson the student and I discuss what their goals are. I then develop a curriculumn designed to help them get there.
