About
My name is Jelani "Coach Bo" Boline. I was very fortunate to play at one of the best high schools in Chicago, Whitney M. Young Magnet HS, where I was voted to the All-Public League Team, All-Area Team, and All-Academic Team. I went on to play high major D1 basketball at Oregon St. Univ and Univ of Illinois, plus I played pro ball in the International Basketball Association in Winnipeg, Canada. I was an assistant and head coach of AAU, HS and college teams, from 2009 until 2020. I have been part of championship caliber teams. Head coach of a grassroots AAU organization, Hoopazy Only, which had a lot of success and won multiple tourneys. As for HS and college, i was an assistant coach of a HS varsity city championship team plus the team finished 3rd in state. In 2013, I was the associate head coach and top recruiter for Moraine Valley Community College, which lost in the national championship game. In 2016, I was the top assistant and lead recruiter for Triton Community College that also finished 2nd in the national championship tournament. In 2020, I finished my 3rd year as the head coach at Richard Daley College in Chicago but had to resign due to Covid 19 where they canceled our season then me and my family's relocated to Texas. I have been training off and on since I finished college in 1998 but know I am doing this full time and run my own business!
I specialize in overall 1st in being fundamentally sound. Then I continue to work with clients on overall skill development, agility, balance, Boot camp style-strength/conditioning (sometimes Boot camp sessions in the sand), and injury preventative exercises/stretching. Sessions can be private 1 on 1 or small group sessions as well. I have started training over zoom calls as well and team training or practice!
I think being able to work with the youth anywhere from 7-9 years old to professional ball players and everything in between separates me from alot of trainers. My 1st session is a trial/consultation to evaluate a new possible client. Then, if we move forward to tailor make workouts geared to that specified youths needs. I try to attack their weaknesses then build them up from there while still enhancing their strengths to become a better overs all basketball player!
I have always had a passion for working with the youth. My track record of assisting 100s of student-athletes fulfill their dream of playing basketball makes my day. Some I have trained up but others I have assisted by making calls to my college coaches in my network, hosting unsigned college basketball showcases, coaching student-athletes at the schools I coached at, etc. My track record is outstanding and I can get references at any time plus you can read all my reviews from Chicago to Texas!
Last but not least, I think something that separates me to get to know a new client is that I ask them to send me their 3 top strengths, their 3 biggest weaknesses they need to improve on the most and what are their ultimate basketball goals and life goals!
I look forward to assisting any athlete with achieving whatever goals they desire in the game of basketball.
Respectfully,
Jelani "Coach Bo" Boline

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would tell the student that if they set goals and that trainer is not helping them to achieve those goals properly, they need to find a new trainer! Growth is a slow and a steady process, plus, doesn't happen over night. The parent(s) and student(s) need to be realistic with outcomes of the trainings and conscientious of where the student(s) skill set was at from the 1st session.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students need to put together what they think are their strengths and weaknesses. After that, the student needs to let their trainer know what are their strengths and weaknesses. Afterwards, they should allow the trainer to evaluate them properly to see where they are and what they need to work on during their training sessions to get better!
