About
I am a fine artist, and I love introducing students to painting. I have been teaching painting for about 6 years. I have taught at the Art Lab in Broadripple, Carmel Community Monon Center and at my studio in Zionsville. It has been my experience that anyone with a desire to create can learn how to paint. I introduce the basic concepts of color theory, color mixing, composition, and demonstrate the different techniques and tools to enjoy painting.
I enjoy seeing beginner students develop their confidence as they improve their skills. After learning basic techniques through a series of excersizes, I encourage students to come up with their own project ideas and to paint subjects that they love. I have many students who have stayed and continued painting and are now in my advanced class.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Classes begin again this January 2018. Contact me to enroll in a class. Right away I have new students become familiar with the texture and feel of the paints. I like to go over color theory, we do a series of color mixing excersizes. Students learn how to use complementary colors, analogus and monochromatic colors. Then we start the first of 3 or 4 small still life paintings, using a limited palette of colors.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied Architecture and minor in fine art. After 10 years working in the field of Architecture, i decided to dedicate myself to my family and my love of painting.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Winter/spring classes are starting in January. Classes normally run on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons 1-3:30pm Or Evening classes On Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30-9:00pm. Five weeks for $125. Contact me for exact dates and to enroll in a class. Class size is limited so reserve your spot.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students of all ages. From parent/child classes with preschool age children, after school enrichment art for elementary school aged children. And adult classes with senior adults as well.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I also do Private Painting parties at my studios. We recently had a Large canvas party were a group of friends painted one large canvas for someone's birthday!
