About
I paint in acrylic, oil, gouache, and watercolor! I also teach drawing and colored pencil work! I love to teach all ages from children to seniors. I can teach basics or more advanced students. I teach a variety of subject matter: still life, landscapes, and portraiture. I encourage experimentation and the artistic process.
I enjoy learning from my students. I like seeing how different people make art and seeing how art brings people together at all levels. I love painting and creating and I love to spread that joy.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I start by assessing where a student is at skill wise. I also ask where the would like to improve and what there goals are. I cater my teaching to them. We start with brush work and brush care, overview of supplies, and then we dive in and have fun!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have degrees from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and Indiana University. I've taught from summer camps, to eprovate lessons.
