About

We teach kids to pitch with THEIR BODY!.....not their arm!

By using their body they eliminate injury, are more accurate, have better movement and increase velocity!

I get goose bumps watching a kid with no confidence or skill set, become DOMINATE and learn the problem solving skills very few kids attain! Skills they will use later in life as an adult........the reward factor for me is priceless.

raining kids for 34 years and over 3,500 private students, this never gets old!

My son Mike has been with 3 Up 3 Down pitching for about 4 to 5 years. He came to him to not only learn about pitching but how to be safe with his arm care. He was beginning to experience arm pain while pitching and I found out how little most coaches understand pitching in general. The sessions are excellent and my son views his lessons with excitement because he knows that they will lead to him improving. He has watched other kids develop arm issues and he has not been burdened with that. I put much of that on how Bill Ayers has helped him develop with his pitching. There is no pressure put on the parent or child and I absolutely recommend would recommend 3 UP 3 Down pitching for any parent that wants their child to learn the right way to be safe in their development.

My son looks forward to each lesson at 3Up 3Down with Coach Ayers. My sons interest in baseball and working hard to improve has been instilled in him over the past 2 years of pitching lessons with Coach. His understanding of the mechanics of being a good pitcher and understanding that the process to become a good pitcher doesnt happen overnight has helped him improve each season. Coach Ayers positive approach to teaching has had an extremely good influence on my son in many ways....both on and off the field.

Bill is extremely talented as a coach, and I recommend him highly. His focus is on a national level, and my son went to him for several years. He went from being a good Sunday Showcase pitcher, to a Triple A Disney All Star. Bill is about teaching how to pitch versus throwing hard.

I appreciate the attention to detail and the fact that fundamentals are stressed .

Coach Bill has the ability to teach players how to pitch and not hurt their arms as opposed to just “throwing” the ball. He also helps them understand the strategies that can be employed in different pitching situations. Bill does a great job helping each participant with their mechanics as well.

Bill’s approach isn’t about him — it’s about the kids! He helps them with their pitching mechanics but he also helps them build confidence. He emphasizes that pitching is a lot like life where things can go from well to sideways in a blink of an eye and it’s how you respond that matters.

    Frequently asked questions

We play catch for a few minutes. I show the student how to use his body and what that means. We then start him pitching. I NEVER use drills. They make a kid mechanical or erratic!

i then video tape the student and show him. Once he sees what he is doing wrong.....he starts to fix it, it’s that easy.

all I do is train pitchers. Not hitting or fielding....pitching.

36 years and counting. We have trained in 17 states and 3 countries.

Private lessons are $80for one hour

    Semi-private (2 kids ) $55 each for one hour

    group and team discounts vary

38 years ago I went to a baseball clinic for coaches In California. We had 6 Retired MLB pitchers teaching it. They took me under their wings and got me started.

7 - 39 year olds. Little league to MLB.

We had a Special Needs tournament at our local baseball park. I volunteer every year.......priceless the amount of love those kids have for the game!

if your instructor does not video tape your lessons and explain what he is seeing......EVERY ONE of them.....run away! Pitching a baseball is the fastest most stressful human movement of ANY sporting endeavor s in the world! If the coach does NOT video tape he is just guessing!

    WE DONT GUESS!

    should my arm hurt? Why?

    do you video tape?

what is the most important thing in pitching? ERA? Strike outs?

What can I do to improve?

why do I walk so many batters?
