About

I always had an interest in photography from 15 years old, ranging from basic urban or rural landscape, to street photography, and in the last few years I have enjoyed some model photography, on location with natural light and maybe a portable flash. I am self taught and took a one year course in photography at The Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale. From 1990-1993 I was a Wedding Photographer, and I always endeavor to deliver the best images I can. I now shoot film and digital using a Nikon F and a Nikon F2 or a Panasonic Lumix. I typically use black and white film for my sessions, I will use color also. I scan all my film sessions to provide the client a DVD of the best photos. I charge a fee to cover the film cost and my time and if I you want color, I add a developing fee. No MUA is supplied.

I teach basic starting photography skills, including a general understanding of exposure. I also teach composition and how to look at your lighting to determine your best lighting.

I also show students why they would use different semi-automatic functions on their cameras. And also at times they should use full manual in order to obtain the picture or effect that they are wanting.

This is for beginner photography enthusiasts that want to do more than just point and shoot.

I am retired now, but I have been a wedding photographer and portrait photographer in studio and on location. I have attended a one-year program at the Fort Lauderdale Art Institute of photography.

My only qualifications are simple, you have a desire to learn the basics of photographic exposure and composition and to run with it with your own style as you learn more. And that's your camera whether it be film or digital has not only semi automatic modes but also has a full manual mode. A camera with interchangeable lenses is not necessary as long as it meets the minimum type of photographic modes I just mentioned.

I have one restriction on myself: I do not accept clients under 21 years old. Minors would require a parent on every lesson, with upfront proof of being their parent and a signed release for the minor.

Frequently asked questions

Our lesson starts at a local park or location where I begin to teach about exposure controls on their camera. Sample photos will be taken and talked about. The first day is fairly basic so I can get an idea where the student is, knowedge wise. I do have a sylibus for each student. The on location lessons are from 2-3 hours long. These are not "oneday" workshops, but includes 5 lessons over a short period of time.

$90, incudes 3 lessons on a chosen location, a Power Point sylibus, and my critique.

I can also offer a per-lesson rate of $30.00 per-lesson for your needs.
