What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Introduction, Determining skill set. Goals, Commitment. Enhancing the skills they already have.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been involved in baseball for over 50 years. Over 15 years of College recruiting.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Flat fee of 35 dollars for 60 minutes 45 dollars for 90 minutes. Travel fee of 10 to 15 dollars.
How did you get started teaching?
Evolved from playing so many years in Las Vegas and running a college recruiting program.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students as youg as 5 all the way through junior college athlete's. The bulk of my students rang from 10 to 16 years of age.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
After working with one of my last students in Las Vegas for 3 years before moving to Indiana, I just found out he is playing u16 travel ball as a 14 year old. I started with him at 10 when he just started playing.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Be committed!! Open to new advice and instruction. Set realistic goals along the way. Do not give up there will be peaks and valleys along the way.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are my goals with baseball? What kind of time do I want to put in to achieve those goals. Is this something I really enjoy doing.
