Generally, schools adhere to the teaching guidelines set by Yoga Alliance for 200-hour and 500-hour teacher training programs.
Students who complete training that adhere to the guidelines set by Yoga Alliance can apply for the Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) certification.
Most yoga instructors attend classes, workshops and seminars to keep their knowledge up to date. Instructors that are registered with Yoga Alliance are required to complete at least 75 hours of education every three years.
