Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
With respect to painting: Hands-on workshops begin with a collaborative effort; allowing expression and movement of large amounts of archival, eco-friendlier oil paint. After experiencing viscosity options, compositional lean-tos, and working in-the-moment, artists create at their own easel while using large brushes and varied sculpting tools. With a focus on individual passions and spontaneity, artists direct their art from within, both real and imagined.
Anticipatory Set
Artists begin to look to their own processes and passions. Rather than being pinged around by trends or put-upon themes, artists are encouraged to think for themselves while creating work and projects that exhibit their individual expression. In turn they will be asked to treat their artwork like jewels, like their own beating hearts.

Training assistants and being hired through Joslyn Art Museum in Omaha, NE.
What types of students have you worked with?
This artist has worked with groups and individuals. Healthy and handicapped; full vision and low-vision; ages 5 through 90.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
A student's goals should be in sync with the instructor's goals. Often art, golf and other activities enhance one's ability to address and build individual longterm goals that may not necessarily be directly related to art or golf. Learning skills leads to an ability to expand goals and hopes. Learning how to do something that is challenging, increases ongoing love of learning. Knowing what is required to get to any level in art -or- even golf is considered by some a gift.
