Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When I start working with a new student, the first thing I do is find out what they are looking to learn from trumpet lessons. Are they looking to be better prepared for band class or an audition, wanting to participate in more music outside of school, or just looking to improve their trumpet playing? Then I find out how they learn and what teaching style works best for them. I form a different strategy for each student. I work with and for my students so they are getting the most out of lessons as possible.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have my GED and am currently sophomore studying music education at Kansas State University. I have been playing trumpet for 10 years and giving private lessons for 4 and have experience teaching and tutoring across several other subjects. I have made my school's top ensembles in both high school and college and have also made district and state honor bands and solo contests.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
