Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Our classes start with a 10 minute warm up period to get the body moving. We also use this time to introduce ourselves and the students to each other. Next, we cycle through four 10 minute rotations on each major apparatus, vault, bars, beam, and floor. At the end of class, students will receive a participation stamp and have a chance to chat with the instructor in the lobby.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We are a USA Gymnastics Member Club, since 2005. We have 9 professional members on our staff and participate in continuing education through USA Gymnastics on an annual basis, including hosting instructional courses at our facility.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Our standard classes are $66 per month for a 50 minute class once a week.
How did you get started teaching?
The owner of Pinnacle was a competitive gymnast for 9 years and made it to level 10, the highest Junior Olympic level. After retiring from her competitive years, she began coaching at a local recreational center. After falling in love with the coaching side of gymnastics, Morgan earned a business degree from the University of Kansas and opened up Pinnacle in the summer of 2005. The mission of Pinnacle Gymnastics is to encourage yout to reach their physical and mental potential through gymnastics.
What types of students have you worked with?
We work with students of all ages and abilities: from 9 months old to 18 years old. We even have an adult class and a class for students with special needs.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Ask your potential gymnastics club if they have lesson plans. Lesson plans draw out a clear progression of skills that make our curriculum safe and designed for continuous improvement.
