Hi, my name is Kellen Jackson, better known as Coach KJ! I am a basketball coach, skill enhancement trainer, and youth leadership development coach. I am very passionate about the quality of my service and my goal is to deliver measurable results, while building the mindset, belief, and confidence of my students. My aim is to teach players of all levels how to persist toward their aspirations both on and off the court while learning core values, competence, and character.
As Co-founder and President of the You Hoop Organization, our collective mission is to use sport-specific education to positively impact and empower young lives through character building and leadership principles.
The game of basketball is an excellent teacher and my goal is to build young leaders and create champions for life! Here's a brief snapshot of my personal accomplishments and certifications.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Step 1: Visit youhoop.org.
Step 2: Create a profile.
Step 3: Schedule a phone consultation. (15 mins)
Step 4: Schedule an evaluation. (30-45 mins).
Step 5: Follow up Q&A call.

How did you get started teaching?
I got started in coaching and teaching basketball as a way to inspire, empower, and influence athletes of all ages and stages to become the very best that they are capable of becoming.
I aspire to be the type of coach my students can all continually learn from and a person who leads them and teaches them how to become successful on the court, but most importantly, beyond the hardwood.
What types of students have you worked with?
I work with athletes ranging from 3rd grade to HS, but also work with collegiate athletes during the off-season.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I enjoy every opportunity to influence and engage my students and youth athletes. From practices, to workouts, to games, and camps - I love what I do and I will stop at nothing to go above and beyond for my clients.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Know your WHY?
Be a sponge for new information.
Trust the process.
Bring great attitude and effort.
Be willing to work hard.
Be prepared to persist through challenges.
