Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
With a new student, i ask questions to find out what kind of player they are and what they want to become.
I will do warm up drills to test ball handling, layups, shooting, and fundamentals.
Then demonstrate and instruct on drills to fit that players needs and wants.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a student of the game, from watching, playing, and analyzing the game.
I have been coaching middle school boys and girls basketball for 3 years. First year coaching High School girls basketball.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Yes, I charge by the session not by the hour.
$30 per session.
my training session runs from 1.5 hours to 2 hours.
How did you get started teaching?
All my life I've had a strong passion for the game of basketball. I've always wanted to coach, train, and be involved in the game of basketball. My first client ever training, was a freshman in high school, who was in the gym watching pick up basketball games. Afterwards came to me and asked how can he become better to make the team.
What types of students have you worked with?
6-7 year olds teaching fundamentals
5th-8th Graders
high schools girls and boys
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
My 8th grade girls basketball team, was not a winning program. In 3 years the program took a big turn and for the first time in pogram history we made it to the final 4 in county tournament.
My 6-8 year old team, through the YMCA, plays up with the 8-9 year olds. Our first season we got destroyed almost every game, being small and undersized. But after putting much work over summer, the following seasson we won 4 games and made it to the championship.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for a coach that loves the game. One that isn't training for the money but to see progress and get you to the next level. Puts into you more than just when you come to training but attends your games in AAu or middle/high school. Shows support
