About

I have practiced photography my entire life. I was introduced to the craft as a child by my father. I studied art and photography in high school and college, and began my career as a commercial and portrait photographer in New York City in the late 1990’s. I began teaching workshops and individual instruction soon after, and discovered that my passion for sharing what I have learned about this craft goes as deep as my passion for making images. I would love to help you learn more about this craft and help you gain the skills you need to meet your goals and help you achieve your dreams.

Frequently asked questions

I like to meet students, look over their current work and discuss their experience and goals and decide how best to proceed so that they can meet those goals.

After studying art and art history, and majoring in photography in College, I attended a professional photography program before going to work in New York City as a commercial photographer. I began as an assistant to fashion and celebrity portraiture photographers, working on sets and locations for major national and international publication before going out on my own in these fields. Since moving to Louisville I have run a small boutique black-and-white dark room catering to artists and photographers while continuing to shoot family portraiture and other commercial work. I continue to read and study photography and follow the art world and I'm always curious to see what kinds of new work are being produced and eager to travel to new places and see and photograph all this amazing world has to offer.

I charge a set, hourly feefor instruction and try to be generous with my time. I truly love sharing this craft so I try to make sure my students accomplish their goals and I only ask to be fairly compensated for my time and expertise.
