Nominated for Louisiana Music Educators Association Hall of Fame in 2021.
Nominated for the 2018 Bandmaster of the Year by the Louisiana Bandmasters Association. Nominated for Band Director of the Year by LMEA Districts II and VII more than a dozen times. 1998-1999 Teacher of the Year at Oaklawn Junior High School.
Qualifying participant in the LMEA State Large Ensemble Festival for more than two decades. Served as past Vice President, Honor Band Chairperson, and Parliamentarian of LMEA District VII BDA and as Secretary of LMEA District II BDA.
Numerous articles published in the Texas Flute Society Newsletter, the Natchitoches Parish Journal, The Natchitoches Parish Times, and The Natchitoches Parish Library Newsletter. Author of a published nonfiction book with 4.6 out of 5 stars on amazon.com (The Lord of the Hallows, Outskirts Press, 2009)
Administrator and Moderator of the Etude of the Week—Amateur Flutist Edition Facebook Group from 2016-present. I record and assign a new etude for the group every week. At the present time we have more than 1200 members from around the world.
