Ryan Woods Training
About
I have over 10 years youth coaching experience, coaching teams from 8U to 14U, as well as private lessons for kids older and younger.
I take great pride in getting to know the kids I work with, both on and off the field. Establishing trust with a young athlete is of paramount importance.
I have played and pitched at the Division 1 level as well as professionally in the Kansas City Royals organization. I combine this experience with a master’s degree in Kinesiology and a personal training certification to help athletes enhance their skills and performance.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When I meet a new student, the first step is to know the student and their goals. We not only address areas in which they have struggled, but I also try to find a language to communicate with them.
After talking, we go through an evaluation of their present skills in throwing/hitting/fielding/etc. From this point, I will start to address areas for change.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, with minors in Chemistry and Psychology. I have a Master’s degree in Kinesiology, with a concentration in Exercise Physiology. I have studied two years of Medical School basic sciences.
Beyond school education, I am a Certified Personal Trainer, Youth Exercise Specialist, and Women’s Fitness Specialist.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Individual lessons are $50/hour. If you prefer small groups, it is $50 for the first athlete, and $25 for any additional athletes.
How did you get started teaching?
I got started teaching through coaching my son. I knew that establishing a base would be beneficial to his progress. I took this approach and applied it to his teammates, which then spread to other teams. I made myself available to other players who wanted to get extra work, and to make changes to improve their skills.
