About
Emily grew up in the small town of White Castle next to the Mississippi river, where she adopted a love of art since she was a young child. Her love of art let her to receive art instruction at the age of 9 years old which increased her love of art. She has found the foundations of art extremely important and believe they should be regularly used as a tool to further grow as an artist.
Emily believes that no matter the age or the skill level, someone always has room to evolve into a better artist. Emily moved to Baton Rouge in 2004 and has studied several mediums of art including theatre, photography, digital art and graphic design. She is currently completing her college career at Louisiana State University with a BFA in Digital Art while also being active in the Baton Rouge art community.
She directs her focus on illustrations, character designs and SFX in film. She has also worked with children with learning disabilities at The Brighton School in Baton Rouge. She has experience in various mediums of art and strives to master anything that interests her. She embraces her students creativity and loves to help them take their talent to the next level. Her desire is to educate her students to excel not only in art, but also in life.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
we start with what you know and work with the basics and understanding the medium and then techniques. We then move on to forms and different art terms and styles.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
been painting/drawing since I was younger and started tutoring in 2012
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $40-$45/per lesson which is 90-120 minutes each
How did you get started teaching?
I would help work aftercare at an elementary school and the kids would often be curious about art and would ask me to teach or show them some fun projects while I watched them

ages 6+
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I love White Light Night which is a local art hop event we hold in Mid City Baton Rouge! I often show my art and have demonstrations with my students !
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Be patient and remember fundamentals! Don't forget everyone has their own pace and their own style of making art! Never compart your work to others and HAVE FUN!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Think about your strengths and what areas you want to improve on, set some goals you want to achieve!
