About
Biography:
I started learning the flute at age 10 with the principal flutist of China Symphony Orchestra, Professor Guoliang Han. After two years of studying, I was accepted by both Central Conservatory middle school and the middle school attached to Renmin University. During the period, I had experienced many chamber and orchestra performances in all the major concert halls such as National Centre for Performing Arts, Beijing Concert Hall, etc. In 2010 at age 15, I have also held a solo recital successfully before she left Beijing for Pre-college of the Juilliard School in New York City. I was instructed by Pro. Bradley Garner. From that time on, I began to develop more as a young soloist by winning solo competitions. In 2011, I was the finalist of High School Competition of National Flute Association. In 2012, I won the High School Competition of NFA again and the High School Competition of China Flute Association. After Pre-College of the Juilliard School, I was admitted by New England Conservatory and started to study with Ms. Paula Robison. In 2015, I had a triumphant solo concert in Beijing Concert Hall. In 2016, I won the Pappoutsakis Flute Competition as finalist in Boston. Now, I'm a current master student of NEC and will be graduate in 2019 spring.
Teaching Background and method:
I have been teaching private flute students since three years ago in Boston. I would love to teach students in any age and level of playing, both amateur and students who have professional prospect. I'm fluent in Chinese Mandarin and English. I will hapl them to build strong foundation which all the professional schools require by teaching basic skills such as finger technique and sound. I will also have series of repertoire for students in different levels and I'm willing to help them work on whatever they would like to play.
