Mathematics Tutor

When I work with a new student, I usually start by getting to know them a bit. I like to understand their current level in math, what topics they find challenging, and what their goals are. Then, I assess their understanding through some practice problems or discussions. From there, I create a personalized plan that focuses on their needs, mixing in some fun activities to keep things engaging. I also encourage questions and make sure to build a supportive environment where they feel comfortable asking for help. It's all about making math enjoyable and accessible!

I have a masters degree in Mathematics Education, which really helped me understand how to teach different concepts effectively. Plus, I've taken various professional development sessions focused on teaching strategies and working with diverse learning styles. My experience in the classroom and with the kids I nanny has also given me practical skills to adapt my teaching methods to fit each student’s needs. It’s all about finding what works best for them!

I got started teaching because I’ve always loved math and wanted to share that passion with others. After completing my degree in Mathematics Education, I jumped right into teaching and tutored after school.
