About
Hello - My name is Kathleen and I have over 25 years of photography and camera experience. I was self-taught on film cameras and darkrooms; soon evolving into the digital era. I can teach you how to use your camera properly, compose beautiful images, create proper exposures and a few tactics that will help you achieve success in phot taking.
I am also knowledgeable with computer programs and editing software programs, which offers insight on your upload/download process, editing and processessing images for export - digital or print.
I love seeing the beauty in the world - in all its strengths and weaknesses. Whether it be shooting still objects, studio work, street photography, human interest stories, weddings, or mix media content- there is nothing I love more than capturing life around me as it is unfolds.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I would like to get to know the student - find out what their interests are - and what type of creative images they would like to acquire. And, of course, answer as many questions as I can about what is trying to be learned.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BA in Visual Journalism from Brooks Institute, as well as work FT as an Ophthalmic Photographer, imaging the eyes and training on an array of modalities.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Negotiable
How did you get started teaching?
My mother taught preschools and early childhood education when I was growing up, so I guess you could say it is in my blood to help teach others.
What types of students have you worked with?
College co-ops, younger children, and seniors.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Any events that I am able to participate in for charity - that is always rewarding because I get to be present around those that all are there for the same purpose - helping others or raising awareness.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for someone that loves taking photos, as well as helping others achieve that as well.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Technical questions - and format preferences
