Rick Friedman is an internationally published photographer who has worked on assignments for Time, Newsweek, The New York Times, Washington Post, Nature, Der Spiegel and many other publications around the globe. He also shoots comercial and advertising assignments and has worked on 15 movies. Rick has photographyed every US president from Jimmy Caarter to Donald Trump. He was won several awards for his published work. Rick is know for his unique styles of lighting and is the creator of the "Rosco Location Lighting Kit".
Rick has been teaching photography and his Location Lighting Workshops" for over 15 years. He teaches across the US, Canada, Carribean,UK and UAE. Many of Rick's students are professional photographers or go to become professional photographers.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Talk with the student about where they want to go with their photography. Review their current work. Get the student up to speed on their equipment, go shooting with them, guide them during the shoot and then review the results. This can be done on location near in my studio or in my studio. If the student wants to work on lighting, we will work in the studio, where I have all the equiptment.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Over 30 years as a magazine photographyer, over 15 years as a photo educator. I have had over 75 book and magazine covers, shot hundreds of major corporate assignments along with 15 movies. I am known for my lighting, which goes from simple to over the top.

$65 per hour, includes use of the studio and lighting equipment.
How did you get started teaching?
I love working with other photographers ans sharing photographic ideas.
What types of students have you worked with?
i have taught hundreds of students at my workshops, at major photo conventions and in private lessons in my Boston studio and around the globe.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
In November I was invited to teach photographic lighting and fashion photography at the Xposure Interational Photography Festival in Sharjah, UAE. In early January 2018, I taught a model workshop in The Bahamas.
