Frequently asked questions

New students are gently led through the art process they are attempting to learn. Instruction is as highly individualized as possible and concrete feedback given promptly when needed.

I have undergraduate degrees in both art eduation and fine art. My masters degree is in the area of special education with a concentration on working with behaviorally and emotionally challenged children.

I supplemented my art education in both England and Italy during and after college. (Sculpture) I am a self-taught painter who has participated in a large number of solo and group shows in New England.

Small group lessons generally work out to between $15-$20 per contact hour plus materials.

Individualized instruction runs for $75/hr plus materials.

I began teaching straight out of college in 1996 in the public school system. I began teaching at independant art institutions in 1998 and established my own art center in 2017 where I teach a wide variety of art classes. I also emploly local artists who specialize in areas I do not to run classes at HeARTspot.

I have worked with children through older adults. (Beginner through advanced) I've also taught special education and at-risk population groups.

If you're a beginner, seek someone out who is not only knowlegeable, but also good at the art of teaching. Teaching in and of itself is an art.

What is it I'm looking to learn? What are my long-term goals? Am I looking to learn how to do this as a hobby or to master the craft as a way to create work for sale?
