About

As a graduate of Saint Michaels College class of 2015 with a degree in Fine Arts, I am proud to be working in the arts. I have such a passion and love for art as a whole. During my studies I focused on large sculptural multi-media installation and practiced my love and skill of painting. I am currently a professional artist, I own and operate a studio and gallery in Plymouth MA where I practice my own work, teach and curate shows for other local artists. I have been teaching for 5 years now independently. I teach and guide all skill-levels within the art realm, from beginner (with no experience) to advanced and everything inbetween. I like to really create an environment for my students, weather I teach a class in my studio, at their home, or even bring them outside their comfort zone by taking a field trip to the ocean, dunes, wooded area, etc. At Sunshine we strongly encourage people to step out of the world of comfortability and experiment with techniques, forms, tools, etc. that they have never used before. We teach workshop style classes on small sculpture, painting, construction of craft-based projects, as well as individual independent studies. An example of an interesting topic that we teach is the ancient technique of Sumanigashi water marbling, it is such fun, free flowing, relaxing practice. I am a lover of abstraction and most of my works have been classified as abstract expressionism. If you would like to check out my work, and learn a little bit more about who I am and what I do please check out my website: sunshinedaydreamart.com or my Facebook page: Sunshine Daydream Productions.

I love being a professional artist, it is my dream and my passion. I believe I was put on this Earth to make art that exemplifies beauty and to teach and spread the love that art brings to my life.

Frequently asked questions

The first thing I like to do is set up a meeting, in person or via phone. I like to get a feel for what skill level this person may be and ask them what they would like to work on or what type of commitment they are looking for. From there I like to invite them to my studio to see if they feel comfortable creating in my space and/or to check out works of mine to see if they are inspired and if we are a good fit! I will offer to host their classes at my studio, if they are interested, or offer to come to them. I also like to ask questions about what inspires the artist, what artists from the past or present are they intrigued by and see what they feel their niche in the art world might be. From there we begin to work with the skills that they have and apply them to their vision!

I am a graduate of Saint Michaels College, with a Major in Fine Arts concentrating on large-scale multi-media abstract sculptural instillation and painting. I have been practicing and instructing since I graduated in 2015.

I typically ask clients to provide their own materials and I charge either hourly or for 6 or 12 week classes.

I originally began working for a paint party company, quickly realizing that I wanted to teach more in depth and skill-based forms of art. I opened my studio and gallery in October of 2018 and have been achieving my goal of teaching at higher levels! My plan is to start gradute school and get my masters, and hopefully PhD in the arts to become a professor!

At Sunshine we provide classes for all ages, we are a 100% inclusive to anyone and everyone that would like to come and take a class! One of my students Joyce has been with me for almost a year now and she has been absolutely lovely to work with. Joyce’s inspiration strikes a lot from portraits of animals and landscapes of nature in the style of realism! I have worked with all age groups from little littles (5-7) up to older folk (70’s-80’s) and everywhere between!

I recently held an Open Paint class at my studio where I invited artists and friends to come and create! Some people brought existing works that they were looking for help with, some brought finished works and were looking for group critique, and others began new works!

Stick with it! Many people told me there was no future for me in the art world, that I would not make a living and that I would struggle post-grad. I am here to say that there is a place for you in the art world! There are so many avenues for artists in this day and age it’s incredible. Just keep pushing, honing your craft and believing in the power of art!

What inspires you? What drives you? What is your idea of beauty in the form of art? What is your idea of leaving your comfort zone? What can you do to improve your skills and how can you be helped? Who’s (artist) work interests you or moves you? What about your art makes you feel, and what do you feel? What do you think about your art? What would you like to try or learn about?
