Ricky Mier is one of the most exciting young banjo players I’ve heard. With a fertile imagination and the technique to support it, Ricky is on the cutting edge of the latest crop of banjo adventurers. I look forward to seeing where he takes the banjo next.

First off let me start by saying when I first spoke with Rick I explained that I had recently been diagnosed with a medical condition and requested he be patient with me through the learning process. He has been more than accommodating and he has made each lesson a fun learning experience . I told Rick that my goal was to be able to go to Jam sessions and fit in and be able to play along ,since i started he has been preparing me with a solid repertoire and skill set to be able to accomplish this task. I have been to a few teachers over the years and Rick is the first one that truly gets “it” . I would give Rick a solid “A” if I were to give him a grade if anybody is looking for a great Banjo teacher .

Ricky has been a wonderful teacher! I learned so much from him in our time together but I had to move so I was not able to continue. Ricky is such a patient and creative teacher which really helps with each lesson. If I could sneak in a 6th star on this review I would! Thank you so much Ricky!

Really chill guy. He accommodated to my abilities and made the lessons fun. He also pushed me to practice a lot, which wasnt hard to do because its fun! We ended up starting almost every lesson with talking about a new passion like a certain kind of musical sound we dont hear every day or a fun motivational speaker or a new band, etc. Be prepared for a relaxed and fun hour.
