Pihakis Guitar Lessons
About
I love teaching and am devoted to giving each student a personalized experience that helps them achieve their goals. I have over 8 years teaching, and have taught styles such as, blues, rock, metal, classical, and folk.
For me, it's very important to give each student the skills necessary to function independently as a musician and not just a guitarist.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I first determine what music they enjoy, and what they hope to gain from playing the guitar. My lessons will be very different for someone just doing it for fun versus someone who is gearing up to audition for music schools.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold two degrees in Classical Guitar Performance. The most recent is a Master's degree from the New England Conservatory of Music.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My lessons are 50 and hour for students that travel to me, and 65 an hour for students that I travel to.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching as a teenager just to my friends, and discovered that I really enjoyed it. I find that each student has their own unique challenges, which makes for a truly dynamic expirence.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with students from age 6 all the way up to students in their 60s.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
You have to have the time to put into your practice. 15 to 30 minutes a day is much better than marathoning one day a week.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What do you want to do with guitar. How much time are you going to put in, What guitar should I buy.
