Lauren’s Academic Tutoring
About
I offer supplementary lessons in English language, speaking, writing, reading, literature, and grammar, as well as lessons in basic and intermediate Spanish. I can provide lessons for both elementary and secondary learners, and I am familiar with and can provide firsthand supplementary lessons for courses including: AP English Language and Composition, AP Capstone Seminar, AP United States History.
Tutoring combines my two favorite things: language and helping people! I love everything about learning in all topics, especially the humanities, and helping people see the beauty in knowledge brings me infinite satisfaction.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Beginning in April, the majority of my high school was reunited together in the school building without the separation of cohorts. It felt incredible to be able to experience an immersive, in person academic environment with all of my peers again, as well as to reinstate the learning process as a collaborative adventure. I truly missed the supportive atmosphere that comes from learning alongside others, and to be able to have that again meant more to me than I can describe.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Practice makes perfect! The only way to build your abilities in any language or topic is to practice; practice makes language and learning feel more natural and manageable.
Confidence is key! Always believe in yourself and your own abilities. You've got this!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Do your best to identify exactly what your strengths and weaknesses are. This makes it easier to address directly the areas in which you struggle the most.
