I have been teaching Art since 2005 and have been an artist all my life. I indulge in mixed media, painting, and drawing. I enjoy teaching young children with positive reinforcement and to create what speaks to their soul. My instructions are gentle and nurturing as I try to have each student capture the world around within their own techniques and style. Once I grasp the individual's strengths and weaknesses, I guide the student to create an art piece by giving one on one instruction. I never touch their artwork. I let the student investigate all styles and techniques they can use to complete a piece of art they are proud of.
I enjoy working with all age groups to help with each student's creative process. I encourage an individual style while guiding the budding artist with different techniques I learned along the way. It is important for me to encourage the student in order to break through any barriers of insecurities a child or adult may have on their own abilities to create a piece of art. Ultimately, the goal is to have students learn a technique, style, and understand the individual process of creating art.
The number of techniques used with all kinds of mediums, including, oil paints, textile, metal, glass beads, clay and so much more. Kim lets you create what speaks to you and guides you through the process to create your own style.
I have students work with the medium given to them and try to have them imagine a scenery or situation. We go outside to look at nature and the details within each organic scene. Once I. The classroom students are asked to capture what they saw outside by using their imagination and creativity.
I have a Masters in Art education
The starting rate is $50 an hour
I taught in private and public schools after receiving my MFA.
I worked with special needs, high school, middle school, elementary and preschool children.
I am currently working at an art school that is a wonderful environment for all different age groups. We have been collaborating with other classes to create an art piece for the students to admire and have fun with.
The student will be excited to create with me as I let the growing artist free to create through intuition and help guide them to think outside the box. In my art world, there are no such things as a mistake.
