About

*Due to the current covid-19 crisis and for our safety and the safety of our loved ones, all lessons we conducted virtually unless a strict social distancing plan can be implemented. Stay safe.

I have been teaching photography both one-on-one and private lessons and in a higher education environment.

For the last 11 years I worked at the New England School of Photography where I worked one-on-one with students and all aspects of photography, Lightroom/Photoshop and both basic and advanced printing skills.

Photography is a vast medium. It is the easiest to do (hello iPhone) but the hardest to master because of the multiple tracks you can go down and the complexities of each.

    Frequently asked questions

I like to meet/chat with my students and discuss their interests in photography and what they're looking to get out of lessons. If they're an absolute beginner then my lessons will start getting them comfortable with their camera first, then we'll move on to how the camera works and how to use a camera on manual mode. Once we have covered the basics we'll work on different types of photography (portraits, landscapes/nature, product, ect.) If a student knows the basics but wants to learn a specific type of photography then I will customize a lesson plan specific to their needs.

The same goes for if the lessons are in lightroom or photoshop, we'll start with a basic fundamental understanding then build from there.

I studdied at the New England School of Photography in Boston and later returned to run their Digital Imaging lab working one on one with students from both our fulltime and evening adult ed classes.

It started when I was in photography school. I was taking a photoshop class and I sat between two students twice my age who would struggle a lot when the teacher was explaining the exercise. I would do what the teacher would explain as she was teaching and as soon as it was our turn to work I would here "I'm confused" in stereo because my classmates knew I would help them. So every week in that class I would learn new tools and techniques and immediately teach two others what I had just learned. A year later I ended up working at that school in the Digital Imaging Lab. I would work with students of all ages one on one assisting them in all aspects of photography and post production.

I have worked extensively with students of all ages, from early teens to mid 80's, with varying knowldage of photography. I work with those who are just starting out in photography and also expert photographers who want to dive deeper into Photoshop and Lightroom or just want a fresh set of eyes to critque their work. I worked with students in a higher ed setting for 12 years as well.
