My Folk Artist's Journey with Brush in Hand!
Mary Svenson began her folk art journey in 1983. She joined the Society of Decorative Painters (SDP) and have since earned a CDA (Certified Dsecorative Artist), and Master Stroke and Master Floral categories of the MDA (Master Decorative Artist). She has been teaching decorative painting for 30+ years. Currently, Mary teaches locally as well as travel teach and has been designing and marketing pattern packets for painters throughout the world. My paintings are mostly in acrylics using a variety of techniques and styles including folk art, primitive, impressionism, strokework, and realism. For me folk art painting has and will continue to enrich my life with challenges, growth, friendships, and joy!
