About

For the past 16 years, I have had the wonderful opportunity to teach public school students from grades ranging from Pre-K through 12.

Now, as an instructor of private art lessons, I am able to bring those years of knowledge and experience to my one on one students. I listen to their interests and am eager to hear what it is they want to learn about. Some students may be interested in learning about various types of painting (watercolor, acrylic, etc). Others might be interested in a certain subject matter (drawing or painting people, nature, etc.). It is my goal to help the student learn while creating in a way that is interesting to them.

I have a passion for art in general and love working with students to acheive their artistic goals. I enjoy seeing their creativity flourish as their technical skills progress.

Frequently asked questions

I like to get to know the student and get some information about what their interests are and what they want to learn most about.  If a student is interested in drawing and painting flowers, animals, people, etc. then that's what we will focus on.  I enjoy working with students of all levels and love seeing the great progress they make as they continue learning and creating!

I currently hold a Bachelor's Degree in Art Education and will soon complete my Master's Degree in the same field.

I have had the wonderful opportunity to teach art in public and charter schools over the past 16 years.  I have taught all grade levels, ranging from Pre-K through 12.

I do have a standard price per class but I am very happy to negotiate the price.  I also am happy to give special pricing deals to students who sign up for 3 or more classes at a time.

My father is an artist and a huge fan of the arts so he encouraged me to follow my interest in art at a very young age.  For as long as I can remember I've been drawing, painting and just creating in general!

When I finished high school I knew with certainty that I wanted to become an art teacher.  I completed my Bachelor's Degree in Art Education from Montclair State University in New Jersey and am currently very close to the completion of my Master's Degree from the University of Florida.

I have worked in the classroom with students ranging from grades Pre-K through 12.  I have truly enjoyed working with students of all ages and skill levels.  They are all unique and have something different to bring to the table which I find interesting and exciting.

My students and I are currently participating in a Global Art Exchange.  As a part of this program, we are submitting artwork about our community and culture that will be sent to be viewed by students in schools all over the world.  We will also be receiving the artwork of students from countries from all over the world.  This is an exciting event that will give our students the opportunity to learn about other countries and cultures through the viewing, analyzing and discussion of art.

I would suggest being specific with the teacher about what you would like to gain through taking art lessons.  Do you want to become a better painter?  Are you interested in learning about other media like oil pastels, chalk pastels or clay?  Is there a certain subject matter that interests you most?  Answers to these questions will help your instructor personalize your lessons so you get the most out of them!!
