About

My service stands out by way of the pleased students I have worked with over many years of teaching. I love to help each individual achieve their artistic goals through developing skills and self awareness. My students build their confidence and knowledge by exploring interests with my guidance and making use of the time between sessions to explore on their own.

I have a Bachelor in Fine Art in Drawing and Painting and have been teaching for over 20 years.

My mission is "Fostering Peace through Creating, Sharing & Teaching Art."

Pamela is extremely knowledgable in all aspects of fine art. She is very organzied, detail orientated, and articulate when explaining the process and procedures of making art with her students. Pamela was also very kind, nurturing and supportive of me as a student - artist. I highly recommend Pamela as an instructor and mentor.

Always encouraging with lots of tips on technique specific to the medium you are using. I was a true beginner and she was key to getting me to follow my dream. My confidence grew every day through her gentle critiques and guidance and I recommend her highly.

I loved taking classes with Pam. Her teaching style allows for personal growth which helps one to develop their own style. She will correct you technically but in a way that is empowering not demeaning. She is very passionate about teaching and learning. You can’t go wrong taking a class with Pam!

    Frequently asked questions

The first step a student takes before working with me is to fill out a short questionnaire so I can understand their background and artistic goals.

After that, if the student hasn't yet decided which medium to explore, we discuss and decide this.  I offer:  pastel, watercolor, and acrylic.

We also discuss which subject matter they prefer - landscape, abstract, floral, still life, imaginary?

I earned a BFA in Drawing and Painting and have been painting and teaching full time since 2000. My studio was at the Brush Art Gallery & Studios in Lowell, MA for 14 years.  In 2017 I moved my studio to my home in Lowell, MA in order to focus more on teaching, painting and travel.

I offer 3, two hour private sessions and include all the materials for the first 3 lessons.  Students leave their first class with a materials kit.

We typically meet once per month, providing time to do homework between lessons.

I charge $ 375 for 3 Private 2 hour sessions.  (Cost of all necessary materials to start are included in this price.)

After the first 3 classes we decide how to proceed ... some students pay monthly or purchase 3 sessions at a time.  Some students decide to try another medium with me.

I first started teaching art lessons in answer to requests from visitors to my art studio in 2004.  Additionally, in 2009 I developed the Elder Art Initiative Program, a teaching service that provides art programming to seniors in assisted living and nursing home communites.
