Samuel Smith Bass Lessons
About
I really love all things bass. I have devoted much of my life to developing my craft. I really learned a lot in my education at Berklee College of Music as well as through experience and practice and I look forward to sharing that knowledge with my students.
I love seeing the look on my students' faces when they discover something new on the bass. I know that feeling all too well, and it is an even better feeling when something you share gives that feeling to someone else.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I start by seeing what the student's goals and experience are then work from their based on what they say.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Berklee College of Music with a major in Acoustic Bass Performance. I have also studied bass, both electric and upright, privately for 13 years with some world class professionals.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Pricing is dependant on the amount of hours and the experience level of the student. For example, I might charge a beginner $35/hr, but charge a more experienced student $45/hr.
How did you get started teaching?
After playing over 600 gigs, I started to get asked if I could do private lessons from audience members.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with mostly high school-aged students, but am able to work with younger and older students.
