About this pro

I am an abstract oil painter, and drawing is the foundation of everything I do. Drawing is seeing, touching, connecting.

I teach what I know and am continually learning from my students in return. I teach techniques and exercises designed to train the eye to look, the mind to slow down, and the hand to sync up with them in moveme Play is such an important part of learning, and playing in my studio is experimentation with purpose.

It's hard to talk about what I love about making paintings because it is so personal and evades language. I know that when I am not making pictures I am not happy. Art is what I think about all the time.

Guiding others through moments of thier explorations of making art is just pure fun. It's exhilerating to talk about and play and make with fellow artists of all kinds. This is what we do. I learn from all of it, from preparing a class to the individual interactions with every student I work with.

We all have some creative urge within us. Often it's been buried under a sea of doubt or forgotten in the daily responsibilities we accrue. I hope to help you excavate that desire.

Her voice was lovely and her descriptive language made her directives easy to follow (understand).

Great teacher especially as I was uncomfortable with the medium. Got much freer with my drawing after her class!

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

First I'd like to speak with you about what you are looking to get from our sessions, where you feel your level of skill/training/experience is, and specifically what you are hoping to learn. If we seem like a good fit, then I will create a personalized approach to our beginning sessions.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have been painting and drawing snce I was a child. I attended the BFA program Massachusetts College of Art with a concentration in painting. I have been an active member of the arts community in the Greater Boston area and New England for the last 30 years. I have created and taught Experimental Drawing classes and workshops.
