I am an abstract painter primarily, however drawing is the foundation of everything I do. I draw from life, I draw from my mind, from feelings and heart. Drawing is seeing and touching. I find drawing and painting to be inseparable.
I teach what I know and am continually learning from my students in return. I teach what is generally called Experimental Drawing. This is comprised of techniques and exercises designed to train the eye to look, the mind to calm and focus, the hand to sync with them in movement and expression. Play is such an important part of learning, and playing in my studio is experimentation with purpose.

I have never truly wanted to spend my life doing anything other than making art, although my passions and interests are quite extensive.
It's hard to talk about what I love about making my work because it is so personal. I can say that teaching others is incredibly fulfilling. I learn while I'm preparing a class, and learn from every student I work with. And each time I see a student find something new, something joyous from a class of mine it is truly elating. I think almost every one is an artist deep down. It's just been buried under doubt or forgotten in the sea of responsibilities w accrue. I hope to help you excavate it.
