Yoga For EveryBody
About
I love teaching yoga! 🧘🏼♀️I enjoy watching my students progress from stiff and inflexible to flexible With much less pain (or hopefully pain free!) I modifying poses to the individuals body type, age and athletic ability.
Yoga has changed my life😃 For years I suffered from back pain from a mild scoliosis. I was at my chiropractor several times a month. A friend suggested that I try yoga. I told her “I am too inflexible to get into those pretzel shapes.” She told me “There are many styles and levels of yoga to choose from. Your instructor will help you modify poses to help you feel comfortable and enjoy your experience.” I was skeptical, but I was willing to try anything. The first class I tried was way too difficult and I felt defeated 😕. After class the instructor came over to me. She had sensed my frustration and asked me what my goals were. I told her that I had back pain and I was hoping to find some relief. She suggested that I try a “restorative” class. I went back the next week to a different class and that made all the difference! I felt relief after only a few classes and after six months I didn’t need a chiropractor anymore! I realized how simple and life changing yoga was so I signed up for yoga teacher training a year later and got my 200 hour certification. Now I take spin, Zumba (I just got my Zumba teacher certification 😃) and have joined the squash league at my health club. I am over 50 but feel 10 years younger. It brings me joy to help my students achieve a better quality of life both mentally and physically 🧘🏼♀️

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Contact them by phone or email to get their information and learn what they are looking to get out of their classes.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a 200 hour Vinyasa style teacher training certification including beginners yoga, power yoga, children’s yoga, chair yoga and yoga for seniors. I have been practicing yoga for 20 years and teaching for ten years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My rate is $30 an hour if the student comes to me or $60 an hour if I travel to the student ( within 15 miles) Travel more than 15 miles or into downtown Boston on week days is an additional $15. A second person can join the lesson for an additional $20 each.
How did you get started teaching?
Yoga helped me elevate my back pain and I wanted to help others do the same 😃 Open Doors teacher training allowed students to teach classes. After completing the certification I taught classes at four of their locations before starting my own business.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have taught beginners the basic postures and sequences to allow them to attend classes at their gyms. I have taught seniors chair yoga and moderate poses allowing for their reduced flexibility. I have taught children’s after school yoga programs. I have taught yoga to athletes to improve their performance. I taught a blind man and his wife yoga in their home. I enjoy teaching all styles of yoga to a diverse group of people. It is satisfying to help my students learn to enjoy yoga and all of the physical and mental health benefits that go along with it😃.
