Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
To understand and make an agreement between teacher (me) and new students. I would like to know their music background: when did they start playing? What type of music they like? What piano/clarinet materials are they using now? And, what do they want to improve in music (or goal)? , etc.
After I totally understnad all details about my new students, I would give them some my suggestions in music materials and my teaching principles.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My music training started when I was 5, and I took piano lessons first. At the age of 12, I started learning clarinet. Besides, I took music theory, music history, ear training, and musicology courses until I finished my master degree of music.
I got my bachelor degree of piano and clarinet performance from Taichung University of Education in Taiwan. Then, I succesfully earned my master degree of clarinet performance from Peabody conservatory of Johns Hopkins University.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
