What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First to evaluate age, experience and goals. Then set up a plan.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
College illustration and figure drawing. Proficient in portrait drawing and painting.
How did you get started teaching?
I usually like to teach individually, however I have taught techniques in groups.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with adults and children. Some with some beginner skills and some who have never had any form of class.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Depending on what type of art and or medium you want to learn, I would look at the artist social media and notice thier style. Does that style match what kind of art you invision producing?
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Do you want assistance with one particular project? Do you want to learn the basics? Would you be more interested in realistic painting/drawing or something more abstract or a mix of both. What type of art are you most interested in learning?
