About
I provide firearms training in the Harford County Maryland area to included Maryland HQL, Maryland Handgun Permit/Defensive Pistol, and NRA courses. I approach course from an educational standpoint, not just training. Many classes can give the students drills and scenerios, but my course teach the students how to learn and become more confident.
Some courses are filled with tactical drills and information which truthfully doesn't apply to the average civilian. I believe the course needs to be appropriate for the students. I and my team are able to relate to just about any background and situation and deliver the best training we can to suit the needs of the student.
I enjoy seeing students become more confident as a course progresses, no matter the level. My goal is to make new shooters more familiar and comfortable around firearms so they can grow to their next level. For more experienced students I want them to have the skills to improve on their own and become even more educated and confident.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Firearms training can be intimidating for some. I always recommend those new to firearms get basic training first such as the Maryland HQL or and NRA Basic Pistol course. It is my ultimate goal to make all students, no matter their experience, comfortable and confident.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
NRA instructor for since 2012
Maryland State Police Certified Instructor since 2013
Public School teacher for 25+ years
Masters Degree
How did you get started teaching?
I have had an interest in shooting sports for some time and often assisted friends in learning how to shoot. It was a natural progression, since I am a teacher, to become a firearms instructor. I especially enjoy seeing people new to shooting and firearms become more confident and competent with firearms.
What types of students have you worked with?
Everything from brand new beginners who are buying their first handgun to experienced individuals working towards or renewing their permits.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would reccomend highly you talk to the instructor and to see what they have to offer. Shop around and realize the cost of the training is not related to the quality of the training in many cases. Doing a little research can go a long way.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What is your ultimate goal?
What type of experience do you want in a course? Educational? More drill heavy? What level?
Honestly, what level are you presently and what level do you want to achieve?
