K. Goodman Rides
About
I give private and semi-private lessons on the students owned, leased, or barrowed lesson program horse on an hourly basis in person. I give English riding lessons and specialize in hunters and jumpers, but also have competitive experience competing and coaching eventing and dressage.
Via phone or internet, I coach performance riding by providing virtual coaching that focuses on mental performance, biomechanics, and horse and rider fitness.
My special passion is performance in riding and I hold several certifications in horse training, riding instruction, therapuetic riding, mental performance, fear and anxiety, and biomechanics, in addition to pursuing my masters in clinical mental health.
I love horses and love helping others learn to enjoy them as much as I do. More than that, I enjoy helping people who may experience difficulties participating in conventional larger lesson programs either because of physical disability, age, or mental status. One of my favorite things about being a small program is my ability to accommodate people and meet them where they're at.
I also enjoy re-riders quite a bit. It's tons of fun to get someone back on a horse for the first time in quite a long time and my background in biomechanics and mental performance is generally particularly helpful.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We have an initial lesson or training session where we meet to evaluate and discuss your needs and goals and how best to serve and meet them!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am SUPER educated because the best teachers are usually the best students. I hold certifications in horse and rider biomechanics, horse and rider fitness, equine massage, hunt seat, show jumping and event riding instruction, mental performance coaching, fear and anxiety coaching, therapuetic riding, liberty work, horse training, and equine assisted learning.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I generally charge per lesson, but I do from time to time offer a new student special or a package so feel free to ask about them if you're interested in my services. Online or over the phone Equestrian coaching sessions are priced a little differently.
How did you get started teaching?
I got started teaching as a teenager by assistant teaching my riding coaches and have been teaching ever since.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all types of students from top level competitors to individuals just getting started with horses, trauma victims and people with a wide variety of disabilities both mental and physical.
