I have been taking drawing lessons with Kimberly for 5 months. She has a direct approach, yet patient. She is encouraging and thorough. I have noticed a significant difference in my drawing ability. She gives awesome feedback that is helpful. I recommend anyone looking for a teacher to give her a shot. She is kind and versed in an array of mediums.

She is very encouraging, seems to respect me as a student, and keeps the drawing lessons moving to new, but not too advanced challenges.

I've wanted to try my hand at painting for some time now. My friend Kim offered some pointers to get me started. She is very patient and creatively gave ideas to point me in the direction I was hoping for. I highly recommend her as she has encouraged me so much in my painting possibilities.

How did you get started teaching?

I found this site on facebook and filled it out. Lessons.com

I started teaching over one year ago and found that I really love it and am good at it.  All of my students have improved in their artistic abilities.

What types of students have you worked with?

All ages from 25 to 75.  All levels of expertise but mostly beginners.  I will also start teaching a 10 year old next week.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

Visiting the Smithsonean Museum of Art

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

I am very creative and intuitive so can spot areas of strength and weakness in my student's art.  This helps me to better instruct them.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

What type of art are you interested in?  I am a realistic drawer and paint semi-impressionistic.  If you are looking to do caricatures or abstract art, I wouldn't be the right teacher.
