I am an artist and teacher of representational art. Working with traditional techniques and materials, I teach students to paint, draw and sculpt in a realistic way.
I give lessons on: oil painting, watercolor, charcoal drawing, pastel drawing, and sculpting in clay.
Subject matter includes: the human figure, portrait, landscape, still life and animals.
You will learn: Composition, paint application, traditional materials, proper form, and classical concepts.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We will evaluate your current level and work with where you are at. Whether you have never held a paintbrush or are are an advanced artist. We will also discuss your goals and develop a plan that will get you whete you want to go. I fully believe art is a taught skill and anyone can achieve a high level of ability.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied at The Schuler School of Fine Art in Baltimore for 4 years, plus a fifth scholarship year.
There I trained in drawing, painting and sculpture.
I am proficient in oil painting, watercolor, pen and ink, charcoal drawing, pastel drawing, and clay sculpture.

Private lessons are $40/hr.

I have worked with all age ranges, from 7yrs to 80.
