About
I started my career in photography over sixteen years ago when I decided to quit my day job as a counselor to open my photography business. This led to owning and running my own studio. I have shot everything from weddings, events, portraits to products. Some of my earliest work included shooting for the local newspaper. Most recently I traveled to India on a project with Photographers Without Borders. I am currently working on my Ph.D. which is looking at how photography is being used as a tool for social change.
I believe photography is an artful way of storytelling.
You can't learn about photography from reading about it, you have to get out and shoot. It's all about framing and lighting. My method of teaching is to have my students shoot and share so we can identify key areas that they are wanting to build skills.
