About
I started Gunners Firearms Training to provide gun enthusiasts firearms safety training, fundamentals of marksmanship, and defensive markmanship.
I am a retired Marine with over 22 years of service and over 30 years of firearms training and experience. As a Marine, I served as a Primary Markmanship Instructor (PMI), Range Safery Officer (RSO), and as a Marine Corps Rifleman. I am a 5th award expert with the pistol and 6th award expert with the rifle.
I am a certified USCCA Firearms Instructor and I am a Qualified Handgun Instructor in the state of Maryland.
I instruct shooter of all levels, weather you are a beginner and never fired a gun before or an advance shooter looking to get that quarter sized grouping.
I enjoy with working with student with all levels of experience, beginner to expert. Seeing students who never fired a gun, overcome their neverousness and are excited after they hit the center of the target. Or, an experienced shooter's satisfaction of shooting a tight grouping from 25 yards is why I like being a firearms instructor.

My process is accomplished in 3 steps:
1. Classroom - lecture, slides, and videos are used to provide students safety information, handling guns and MD gun laws.
2. Practical Application - disasemble and assemble firearms, clearing and loading firearms, cleaning, storing and staging firearms.
3. Live Fire
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Certified Instructor from USCCA and/or NRA. Several years of gun safety, and handling.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
MD Handgun Quaification License - $135.00
MD Wear and Carry Permit (Conceal Carry) - $250.00
Private Lessons - $55.00 per hour/Couples - $75.00 per hour
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would advise the student to do their research and hire someone they feel they will be comfortable with.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should think through the reason they are seeking firearms training. Next, the purpose of the gun they plan to purchase or already own. Finally, in Maryland, if they have a good and reasonable reason to get a concealed carry permit.
