Math Online Learning

My name is Israel, I am a certified online instructor. I have been a mathematics instructor for over 20 years with PGCPS & Howard Community college. I currently manage my own website for mathematics education. Visit www.mathvideoprofessor.com.

Typically, I create online interactive activities that are student-centered and provide steps for them to follow and make mathematics discoveries. This enables them to understand the mathematical principles involved with any topic. The reason why mathematics remains a challenge to many learners is because they do not grasp the fundamental principles before solving problems. When they do not understand these principles, they are thrown off when they encounter problems of the same topic that are slightly different in pattern. This way of teaching is what make my work stand out.

Now, to complete my lesson that comprises three other elements, I assign an explainer video on the IXL website where I am affiliated. This video summarizes the main ideas of the lesson, laying emphasis on the key terms and their applications. The next element of the lesson is a skills exercise for practice. The last part is a quiz on the IXL website that I create to assess the student's understanding of the topic.
