Frequently asked questions

Encouraging students to make art can sometimes happen easily and other times, it’s a challenge. Connecting to people is key. Building a relationship and earning your student’s trust is key for success, not only for the art project you’re working on, but to create an environment where the student always feel safe when making art. A lot of the time, the barriers for not wanting to create are: self-judgement, fear of peer judgment, fear of failure, and lack of exposure to creating art. Remember, that creating art can make a lot of people feel vulnerable. Creative thinking and using new mediums or materials can make people (including students) feel uncomfortable. All of these prevent individuals from wanting to do their best.

Artlisia recieved her BS in Early Childhood Edcation from Mississippi Valley State University.

I charge $85.00 per student per 60 minute session. (A light snack is provided.)

In 2019, I starting teaching art though my work as the Executive Director of the Ward 7 Arts Collaborative. We offer classes of all ages from pre-K to Senior paint and sips.

I have taught classes for all ages ranging from pre-k to seniors.

Due to covid, I havent been having any public events. In 2019, I provided art and craft work shop for 150 kids during the harvest festival at the Meadowbrook Apartments. I provided face painting work shop for older kids, pumpkin patch decoration station, and a painting session for 20 kids creating a 16 x 20 seasonal archylic painting.

Come with an open mind, playful heart and attention to detail and you will learn something that may change your life.

This is not a technical class. Although, I do cover some technical term so students can begin to understand the world of art. This is a beginner introductory class to different creative elements of art.
