About

We reach out to anyone who wants to improve their game and learn more about what it takes for them to have a future career in basketball. I have trained at the elementary middle high school & collegiate level both men and women who are eager to improve his/her game. Jay's lessons are fun, functional entertaining and educational with scrimmages after each lesson. Prior to this summer I was the assistant head coach at Gaithersburg HS (2019/20) where we sent 3 seniors off to Divison 3 schools to continue their careers at the next level. We as a team went 17-5 only losing 1 game at home all season while maintaining a 3.0 GPA collectively. As a player I played 3 years of Varsity for the GHS Trojans 2010-2013 where I averaged 2.4 ppg as a sophomore, 7.8 ppg as a junior and 10ppg as a senior. A notable mention and someone I played a season in high school with is current Toronto Raptors NBA chamopion Malcolm Miller #13 (age 26) who was a senior when I was a sophomore. In 2015/16 I started my college career as a freshman at Howard College where I scored 16 points in my debut game in Lousiburg, NC. I was named most improved player that year and team captain. In 2016-17 I decided to redshirt my sophomore year so that I could raise my GPA and pass all my courses. As a sophomore in 2017-18 I was again named team captain and lead us to NJCAA Region 20 tournament where we fell short to Cecil College 86-83. As a coach and player I see the game from all aspects and angles and understand how much love and passion goes into this game from each side. This summer my goal is to help you improve your hops, improve your 3 point shot and help you develop a layup package that can help you finish over anyone in the paint. I also plan to increase your physical and mental strength while devoloping sound fundemntal dribbling using 2 basketballs at once. You ready? Let's go out and play 🏀

    Frequently asked questions

let them play and see how they react to certain situations. If I need to change anything I ask them first beforehand to make sure they are comfortable with it. For most of my new players, I want to see what they can figure out themselves so that I don't need to bug them 24/7. I try to focus on the position of the athlete and where they need to be to have a chance of scoring/rebounding or getting a steal on the defensive end.

My pricing depends on location and duration of each lesson. I start out at $50 per hour and if someone wants to book 4 or more lessons I cut it down to $45 an hour. I guarantee all of those 60 minutes will be filled with drills, skill improvement , shooting and scrimmages. You will be sweating head to toe after we workout together and will feel yourself getting better each and every day.

I started teaching at 12 years old when I ran my first summer camp out of my parents front yard hoop. I was able to get 7 kids to sign up and let them bond together not only through basketball but by swimming, hiking and eating lunch together as a family. Basketball is an important game to me and I know that any good team has chemistry and sticks together on and off the court. My goal is to teach you young stars how to be efficient and effective game to game on and off the court.

I've worked with toddlers, grown ups, high schoolers, etc. I have also worked with a small group of special needs children who wanted to improve their game and take it to the next level as well.

Sending 3 of my seniors off to different colleges to pursue their basketball dreams.

Look up their names and find out more information on their history and knowledge for the game of basketball. Call your teacher and tell them specifically what you want to gain out of these lessons and exactly what type of player you are/want to be.

How will this help my team? How can I learn to rebound on offense and defense? How many dribbles should I take when I obtain possession of the basketball? Who do I go too when I have a question in regards to playing time?
