Teaching my adult (16+) students oil or pastel painting is an incredibly fulfilling experience for me. I have been a professional artist for over 30 years and an an art instructor for over 16 years...

My painting style is realistic and I stress the fundamentals of painting, i.e., composition, mixing color, learning to paint and recognize value, value relationships, brushwork and technique.

I teach from my home studio located in Annapolis, MD

I am honored to be an award winning artist and juried member of the Maryland Society of Portrait Painters and the Pastel Society of Maryland along with the Oil Painters of America and the Portrait Society of America. I am a copyist at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. and was a featured artist in Best of Oil Painters 2009 and Best of Pastel Painters 2009.

Students really appreciate the small classes with lots of individual attention and the special interest I take helping my students learn to paint (and paint well).

    I welcome new students and take great pleasure in teaching them fundamental, painting principles.  As their work progresses I go into more advanced painting instruction.

    I teach 1 adult, group painting classe in my Annapolis, Md home studio: oil or pastel painting on Thursday from 11:30  to 1:30 pm.  I also teach drawing and painting classes for young students ages 5 to 16 through Young Masters Art Studio www.youngartmasters.com
