Barefoot Cello Studio
About
April began playing cello at 4 years old, began competing at 10, and attended both her undergraduate and masters programs on full scholarships, and has been a full member of symphonies in SC, NC, and Maine. She is currently on the faculty at Bay Chamber Music School, a full member of the Bangor Symphony Orchestra in Maine, and plays as a substitute member of the Greenville Symphony Orchestra in SC. She has been an active session recording musician for the past 12 years, and has been featured on several Grammy nominated albums. She blends traditional classical methods with folk and improvisation, creating a well-rounded path sculpted to each student’s wants and needs. She also has an extensive background in ergonomics and physical therapy, and aims to help each student play comfortably and tension free. Her current students range from 6-92 years old, with many adult beginners.
